DJ RLE

“DJ RLE”

Specialization:

Music has been a part of RLE’s life beginning at a very young age. At 3, he began playing the drums and eventually was the drummer for his father’s Tejano band growing up. RLE was on the drumline in high school and knew that music would always be an important part of his life.

In college, RLE began to DJ and MC as a hobby which then turned into a passion. He went to school for music production and shortly moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue a career in the music industry. RLE is currently the Head DJ Instructor here at Dub Academy, an Official SXSW Artist, and DJ all over Austin.

George Pettus

Specialization:

6x Grammy nominee. George Pettus currently works with Jamla Roc Nation. Credits: Melba Moore, Rapsody, Common, Childish Gambino, phonte & Eric Roberson, Chance the Rapper, Torea and many more. Georges style is very versatile in many genres of music. George teaches production and vocals here at the academy.

Brett Hopkin, aka, Madhatter! is a Multi-Genre Electronic Producer, Saxophonist, Guitarist and Composer out of Austin, TX.

If Griz had a threesome baby with, Kill The Noise and Hans Zimmer, you would get a Madhatter. Simple math guys.

DJ Best

Specialization:


Dorian A. Best, AKA DJ D-BesT, has studied the art of DJ’ing since he was 12yrs old. His style originates from the East Coast to Down South, all the way to the West Indies with his Trinidadian background. DJ D-Best looks up to famous DJs such as DJ Kid Capri, DJ Premier, and DJ Jazzy Jeff, as well as old school DJs that encouraged the scratch like Eric B, Jam Master Jay and Pete Rock... 
DJ D-BesT will entertain you with his turntable skills and cuts. Students looking to stick to the fundamentals and learn turntablism. DJ D-BesT is the instructor for you!

Kellen Good

Specialization:

Having played shows with the likes of Pegboard Nerds, Paris Blohm, SCNDL, Borgore and more, as well as remixing for Ryan Cabrera and Brazzabelle to name a few, Kellen Good has 10 years of experience in electronic music. Along with having releases on iTunes and Spotify ranging from popular styles, Kellen also has writers credit for recording/production/mixing and mastering for bands, to music ques for short films. His production expertise lies within most electronic music genres.

Casual T

Specialization:

Casual T is an electronic DJ/Producer based here in Austin. He has been a working DJ for about 6 years, and has performed at X Games, South by Southwest, and a handful of music festivals, including Waterloo, Euphoria, and Shuttervision. The skilled turntablist prefers DJ’ing on vinyl records and Serato DJ. Known around Austin for his electro-funk Ableton Live performance sets with a live band, Casual T is the go-to for learning Serato DJ, Turntables, Ableton Live, and the ins and outs of the music industry.

Daniel Haaser

Specialization:

Daniel is an electronic music producer and audio engineer based in Austin. He has been producing electronic music for fifteen years, largely in the ambient / downtempo / hip-hop styles. You can catch him live streaming music production and providing mixing feedback on Twitch and check out some of his music on Soundcloud. His favorite software is FL Studio (formerly known as Fruity Loops) though he’s happy to provide mixing and production feedback in any environment. An avid teacher, he has previously taught music production, photography and software development courses in San Francisco.

Sterling Steffan

Specialization:


Sterling Steffen is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and electronic artist. He received his B.A. in Saxophone Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has been an avid Ableton producer since 2011. He has performed with Mother Falcon, Wild Child, Sip Sip, Father John Misty, Raul Midon, Amanda Palmer, and many others.

Originating from Houston, DJ Grip is well known in the Texas and Southern region of the US . He is well known for his mixtapes and club/concert performances. DJ Grip has over 15 years in experience specializing in Rap/Hip Hop. He has performed at clubs & festivals including SXSW, Free Fest, Mala Luna, & JMBLYA throughout the duration of his career. DJ Grip has been a staple in the Austin DJ scene for years, and a great mentor/instructor to work with!

Phoenix has been working with Ableton and Maschine for 6 years, as well as Djing with Traktor. His production library consist of bass, hip hop, trap edm, lofi, house, dubstep and indie/chill beats. Beginners looking to learn the fundamentals, to the more experienced looking to take their production to the next level are all welcome.

Born and raised in Texas (Beaumont), but now residing in Austin, TX, he's worked with several BIG name Artists/Producer’s including; Quincy Jones, Ghost Face Killa, 2 Chainz, DJ E Sudd, Drumma Boy, Freddie Gibbs, Quentin Miller, Scotty Atl, CoolisMac, Bun B, Prince Cannon, Murda Beatz, Smoke Purpp, A&R at Republic and Interscope Records.
